Rava Cake


2 cups Maida

1 cup Rawa

1½ cups Grated/Dessicated Coconut

5 eggs (beaten)

1½  cups Sugar (powder and keep aside).

1 tsp vanilla essence

300g butter

1½ tsp baking powder

½ tsp Elaichi powder

½ cup milk


Sieve maida, rawa and baking powder together, keep aside.

Beat sugar with butter for 5-10 minutes till its creamy.

Add beaten eggs and slowly blend it. Now add the maida/rawa mix and slowly fold into the mixture. Stir the mixture in one direction only so that the air bubbles formed while stirring do not break.  Now add coconut, elaichi pdr, milk and vanilla essence. Mix well.


Grease baking tray with butter and dust with maida or put butter paper. Add batter, tap it a little so that it spreads evenly. Preheat oven at 300 deg for 5 minutes. Bake the cake at 180 deg. for around 45 minutes. Insert a knife or spoon to check if its done. It should come out clean. Serve hot or cold.
