Rava Appam
Rava - 1.5 cups (roasted or unroasted)
Poha - 1 cup
Atta or Maida - 3 tbsp (optional)
Sugar - 2 tbsp
Instant dry yeast - 1 tsp. Or 1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
Lukewarm water - 2 cups
Mix all ingredients and grind in Mixie into a fine paste. Keep it aside covered in a vessel for 10-15 minutes. It will get fermented within 10-15 minutes. (If using yeast, it takes about an hour to get fermented). Check consistency of salt and sugar and add if required.
Heat tava. Pour a ladle on tava. When holes are developing, cover and cook on low fire on one side only. It can also be made in appam chatty. Serve with chutney or egg curry or chicken curry or coconut milk.
