Rava Aloo Sandwich
1/2 kgs rava (any)
3-4 potatoes (boiled)
2 cups curd
Baking soda or Eno
Salt
Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tsp
Corriander leaves
Green chillies - 1-2
Curry leaves - 1 sprig
1 onion - chopped
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Dhania powder - 1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Amchur powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam masala powder - 1/4th tsp
Haldi powder - 1/2 tsp
Butter or ghee as required
In a bowl, add the rava and curd. Add some water and salt and keep it aside for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile make potato filling. Mash the potatoes and keep aside.
Heat oil in a kadai, splutter rai, add curry leaves and chopped onions and saute. Add all the dry masalas and salt and saute. Now add the mashed potatoes and mix well. Add corriander leaves. Potato filling is ready. Let it cool. Now make small tikkis of it and keep aside.
Check the rava batter. It would have thickened. Add some water to adjust consistency. Now add baking soda and mix well. Grease sandwich mould with ghee or butter. Pour one ladle of rava batter into it. Keep the aloo tikki on top of it, Now add some batter on the aloo tikki to cover it and close lid. Let it cook for sometime. Rava sandwich is ready. Serve with tomato sauce.
It can also be made on tava if you dont have sandwich maker. Heat tava and grease it with oil or ghee. Pour a small quantity of the batter and keep aloo tiki on it. Now pour some batter on the aloo tikki and cover with a lid. let it cook on both sides. Cut and serve the sandwich.
Note : This can be made with leftover idli batter too
