French beans and moong dal (Dry veg)
½ kg French beans, finely chopped
½ cup yellow moong dal
One onion chopped
3-4 green chillies, chopped
1-2 tomatoes chopped or 1 tbsp lime juice
1/2” ginger chopped
¼ tsp hing pdr
Curry leaves
½ tsp Mustard seeds
½ tsp jeera
½ tsp turmeric pdr
Salt, as per taste
½ tsp garam masala
Oil
Soak moong dal in water for 10-15 minutes. Heat oil in
kadai, add mustard seeds. When it splutters, jeera, ginger and saute. Add hing
powder and saute. Now add onions, chillies, curry leaves, salt and turmeric and
saute for some time. Add tomatoes (if adding limejuice, add in the end) and
saute for some time. Now add the moong dal along with its water and additional
one cup water. Saute well. Now add the beans and let it cook. Take care to see that
the vegetables don’t get mashed. Add garam masala powder in the end. Serve with
rotis.
