Potato Open Sandwich
1 kg potato
1 packet white bread
3 tomatoes, chopped
1 onion, choppped
Ginger-garlic paste
3 green chillies
Corriander leaves
Curry leaves
Salt
Turmeric powder
1 tsp jeera
½ tsp jeera powder
½ tsp hing powder
Oil / Ghee
Tomato sauce or pizza sauce
Bread crumbs
To make potato masala topping
Boil potates, cool it and remove the skin, mash and keep aside.
In a kadai, heat oil, add jeera; when it splutters add hing
powder, ginger-garlic paste, onions and saute. Add salt and turmeric powder and
saute. Add green chillies, curry leaves, tomatoes and saute. Add jeera powder. When
masalas are cooked, add the mashed potatoes and coriander leaves and mix well.
Potato masala topping is ready for sandwich.
Heat a tawa, spread some oil or ghee. Take the bread slices,
spread sauce on it, then spread the potato masala on it. Press it on bread crumbs
and heat on tawa. The side with potatoes should be first kept on the tawa. Meanwile,
spread some ghee on the other side of the bread. Cook on low fire for 2-3
minutes and turn to other side. When it gets crispy take it off the stove. Cut diagonally
and serve with tomato sauce.
