Irupuli kuzhambu
½ kg vegetables
(any one or 2-3 veg – White bhopala, Banana, red bhopala, drumstuck
etc).
1 cup curd
2-3 tbsp tamarind pulp
6-7 red chillies
½ tsp methi
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp raw rice (soaked in water) or 1 tbsp rice flour
1 cup grated coconut
Curry leaves
Salt
Coconut oil.
In a kadai, heat 1 tsp oil, add methi and let it splutter,
add the red chillies and saute. Switch of flame and add the coconut and saute. Make
paste of it, adding rice flour into it. Keep aside.
In a cooking bowl, add the vegetables, salt, turmeric powder and let it cook. Now add the tamarind pulp and let it boil. Now add the ground masala and let it cook for some time. Lastly, beat the curd and add into it. Add curry leaves. Let it start simmering and switch off flame. Do not cook for long after adding curd. Lastly, season it with mustard seeds only (in coconut oil). Serve with rice.
