Sambar Powder
Whole red chillies - 9-10
Chana dal - 2 tbsp
Tuvar dal - 2 tbsp
Urad dal - 2 tbsp
Rice (ukda chawal) - 2 tbsp
Methi - 2 tbsp
One piece of solid asafotedia (25 gm)
Madras onions - 3-4 (optional)
Curry leaves - 2-3 sprigs (optional)
Roast all the above ingredients separately and keep aside.
Fry the onions and curry leaves in little oil and keep aside.
Grind all the above ingredients into a fine powder. Sambar powder is ready. Store in bottle and use whenever required. Use 1-2 tbsp while making sambar to make your sambar aromatic and delicious.
