Kerala Mutton Curry
1 kg mutton
1 large onion, sliced lengthwise
2-3 tomatoes, chopped fine
½ coconut, grated
½” ginger, 4-5 flakes garlic
2 tsp chilli pdr
3 tsp dhania pdr
½ tsp garam masala pdr
½ tsp haldi pdr
curry leaves, salt,

Cut mutton into pcs, wash and drain water completely. Cook in pressure cooker with salt, turmeric & a little coconut oil, without adding water, for 4-5 whistles.
Roast grated coconut with garlic, small onions, curry leaves & garam masala in little oil. Cool and grind into paste.
Grind dhania powder and chilli powder. Crush ginger & 2-3 small onions.
Heat oil, add the large onions and fry till brown. Add ground dhania-chilli masala and fry for some time. Now add the tomatoes and sauté for some time. Add 1 cup water and stir well. Add the mutton pieces and crushed ginger-onion and some curry patta. Add salt. When the mutton blends well with masala, add coconut paste. Cook till done. Season with small onions. Garnish with corriander leaves. Serve with rice or rotis.
