Coconut chutney (for Idli & dosas)

1 cup grated coconut
2 small green chillies, chopped
1 tsp ginger grated
2-3 small red onions
1 sprig curry leaves
1 tsp tamarind
1 tbsp roasted split gram (daria), optional
salt

For the tempering
½ tsp mustard seeds
1 red chilli, broken into pcs
2-3 curry leaves
1 tsp oil

Put all the above ingredients in a blender with a little water and grind to make coarse paste. Keep aside.

Prepare tempering by heating oil, add mustard seeds, red chilli and curry leaves. Pour this tempering over the chutney and mix well. Serve with Idlis / Dosas.
