Unni Appam (Nei appam)

1 kg rice (kachha chawal)
½ kg jaggery
1 tsp jeera
3 pappad
3 yellow banana
2 tbsp coconut pcs
1 tsp elaichi powder
1/4th tsp Salt 
Oil, for deep frying

Soak rice in water for 3-4 hours, drain water and powder it in mixie. Sieve it. 

Keep aside the fine flour as well as the granular flour. Add ½ cup of these granules also into the mixture. 

Melt jaggery with 1 cup water on slow fire. Strain and keep aside. Soak pappad in little water, smash it into a paste. Smash banana into paste. Fry coconut pcs in ghee till brown. Cool it. Mix all ingredients and make a batter. Add water if necessary. Keep aside for 15-20 minutes. 

Deep Fry in unni appam moulds, turning on both sides till it turns golden brown.

Enjoy with evening tea/coffee.
